JKBOSE to Implement rationalised syllabi, textbooks for classes 9 to 12

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has decided to introduce rationalized syllabi and textbooks for Classes 9th to 12th starting from the current academic session, based on the guidelines provided by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

According to a notification obtained by the news agency Kashmir News Observer, the new rationalized syllabi and textbooks have been developed to align with the principles of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The aim is to reduce the content load on students and provide them with opportunities for experiential learning and fostering a creative mindset.

“The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has decided to implement rationalized syllabi and textbooks for Classes 9th to 12th, following the same approach as the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi,” states the notification.

It further informs that the rationalized syllabi and textbooks, aligned with the NCERT’s rationalization process, will be implemented in all JKBOSE affiliated schools from the current Academic Session 2023-24. The deleted content from the syllabi will be made available on the JKBOSE website in due course of time.
