In the Bandipora area of Sumbal, north Kashmir, a 2-year-old child drowned to death in an irrigation canal on Thursday.
An official reported that a girl named Janat Zehra, the daughter of Sumbal villager Javid Ahmed Dar, drowned in an irrigation canal.
“Shortly after the incident, a rescue operation was launched, and locals took the girl to CHC Sumbal where she was declared dead,” the man claimed.
He claimed that the body was given to her relatives for final rites after all medical and legal procedures were completed. (KNO)
